How Does AC work?
There is a common misconception that AC will create cold air in the room. It does not. Though, Ac works by removing hot air in your house and will send the cold air outside.

Each Ac has a standard refrigerant gas and has 3 main components.

3.Condensor
Step 1 Evaporator Coil::
The Hot air in the room is sucked by the vent and is blown over the cold evaporator coil. This coil is located inside the house and absorbs the heat from the air, leaving with cool air. And the cold air will be distributed in the home through air ducts.
Once the refrigerant has absorbed the heat from the air, it converted to a gaseous form and flows toward the Compressor.
Step 2: Compressor
The compressor decreases the volume of gas. This increases the pressure and temperature of the refrigerant gas and readies it for the next process, condensing.
Step 3: Condenser
The refrigerant gas is now in the vapor form reaches to the Condenser. The air outside the house absorbs heat from the gas and decreases the temperature bringing it back to its original form.
Step 4: Loop
Once refrigerant comes back to its original form, it will travel inside to repeat the entire process. The process will continue until the room temperature reaches the desired level.

Noise Factor: Split AC is best suited for bedrooms as its noiseless. However, Window AC gives a humming noise even when not operating on full load
Cooling Capacity: Cooling Capacity is based on the size of the room and tonnage of AC. However, Split Ac cools the large room better and Window AC is more suited for small rooms.

CONDENSOR COIL - COPPER COIL VS ALUMINIUM COIL
Each AC has 3 main components- Condenser, compressor and Evaporator for the proper functioning of AC. The refrigeration gas plays an important part and moves inside the coil and converts from its gas form to liquid form. It is responsible to cool the room temperature.
And there are 2 types of coils used in the AC manufacturing - copper coils and Aluminium Coils
Budget friendly – Aluminium as a metal is cheaper than Copper Coil, which brings down the AC manufacturing cost.
Transfer of Hot air – Copper is more efficient in absorbing heat from the room than Aluminium and hence AC with copper coil cools the room faster than Aluminium coil AC.
Flexibility: Aluminium is more flexible and its easy to work on it, and less metal is used to make the coil. On the other hand Copper is not so flexible and takes more time to mould and uses more metal to make coil, hence increasing the cost of AC.
Corrosion- If Copper coil is affected by corrosion or there is leakage in the coil, it can be easily fixed in the AC at the site itself.
However, with Aluminium Coil the case is certainly not the same, it is hard to fix it and most of the times the entire condenser needs to be replaced, which makes it very costly.
Maintenance – It is easier to clean and maintain Copper Coil as it can be cleaned at home by using water at pressure and the coil becomes clean.
And Aluminium Coil is not so easy to maintain as the coil structure is complex and if water is used at a pressure, coil might get entirely damaged.
Repair- Copper coil is easier to repair, if there is a leakage in the coil then it can be easily repaired on the site itself.
Although, in Aluminium AC repairing is not easy as it cannot be done onsite. Usually it asks for the part to be replaced and if that part is not available in the market. Then it can be a huge problem.
On the monetary end as well, if we are repairing a part it might cost from 500 – 1500 Rs. However, when it comes to replacing it can cost anywhere from 3000 – 5000 Rs depending on the fact if that part is the available in the market or not.
In summary Copper Condenser Coil are better, durable and cools the room more than aluminium Coil. However, the initial cost of AC will be more with Copper Coil than Aluminium Coil. Though, after sales maintenance and repair will be cheaper with Copper Coil
